Mateo Echeverry
I was in born in Cali, Colombia where electronic music was hardly known. At the tender age of 15 years old, I was introduced to this style of music by a friend that had just arrived from Europe.
Little to be known, I became addicted to all music that fell under the electronic genre with an emphasize on trance! I managed to save enough money to buy my first turntables and records, which at that moment were extremely expensive and hard to find.
By the age of 18 years old electronic music, mainly house was starting to emerge into the Colombian club scene. By then I was playing at house parties for people that LOVED trance music. One night during a party, I was approached by a promoter after my set. He offered me a gig for a small but elite night club in Cali. I was very nervous to accept the gig because I wasn't sure if people were ready for trance since house and techno were the popular styles. To my surprise I ended the night with a bang! The crowd went crazy and they loved my set. After this, I started to receive weekly gigs at the most alluring night clubs in the city. This opprtunity gave me a chance to explore all genres of electronic music, which helped me mature my sound and define my sets that now include progressive, progressive house, trance, and techno.
Finally by the end of 2007 I was chosen for an interview with the most prestigious news paper company for the city of Cali.
I was recognized as one of the new emerging talents offering the best in electronic music. They dedicated a five page column describing all that I have accomplished during my carrier as a dj.
I am currently living in miami were I continue to drive my carrier as a dj while staying loyal to my sound!
The Solar Express Sessions is a show where you can find the latest tunes From Progressive to trance. I manage to start my set with beautiful melodic tunes and end them with the most energetic trance and techno.
