Leigh Austin
Leigh's love for Electronic Music began around the age of 12 or so. Introduced to famous Jean Michel Jarre's work, and most specifically the 'Oxygen' track, sparked something inside him that would soon lead to his love and feeling for the dance music genre.
It wasn't however until the age of about 15, from listening to many cd's including the well known Gatecrasher & Trancemaster compilations and being inspired by the early work of Paul van Dyk, when he got his hands on the first version of mixing software 'Traktor'. Through many late nights, and hard effort he learnt to mix and beat-match tunes on the fly using only mouse and keyboard. Later, after watching Dj's at the local clubs, along with the International greats, he wanted to experience the more hands on approach to djing.
Leigh knew of cd players being used to mix at that time but wanted to learn the vinyl way like others had done. So after moving out of home, and saving very hard, he bought his first mixer and direct drive turntables and began collecting records. Learning the basics of this he soon added CDJ's to the setup. Currently Leigh is building up a studio setup to make a go of some production ideas, and see what he can offer the EDM industry.
Leigh always loves any chance he gets to hop on the decks and play some beats, and to this day enjoys the dance music just as much as he did when learning to mix, and never stops learning! On the public level, he has done some guestmixes on the internet with such stations as Urtrancezone.com and NeRadio International, while always being a part of the online forum of dance music lovers worldwide. His passion for dance music is never-ending and always loves the discovery and hunt for those Quality tunes.
