James Dymond
Technically gifted, James has grown up on background of being classically trained in the piano, excelling seamlessly through to a comprehensive grade 7 at a young age. During this time, James also played the Jazz saxophone and guitar, effortlessly presenting his pedigree of musical talent in various public performances.
It wasn’t until 2008 whilst at university that James started to produce electronic dance music, drawing influences on a number of genres in his earlier years. Spending endless hours teaching himself how to produce on FL Studio, James began to specialise in uplifting, progressive and tech Trance and within just a few months several tracks were snapped up by minor labels generating a platform from which to excel.
It was then his track ‘System Situation’ that gave him real credibility, with support from Aly & Fila, Rogar Shah, Kyau & Albert, Matt Darey, 7 Skies, Nitros Oxide, Manuel Le Saux and Radio plays on ‘Music for Balearic People” and ‘Anjunabeats Worldwide’ .
Driven by a passion to produce high quality music, James’ compositions were starting to make real progress and just 4 months after his first release, James was approached by Armada – arguably the biggest trance label on the planet – to sign his best production to date, ‘Gundam’. Armada quoted this as “an anthem in its own right” and subsequently, Armin Van Buuren himself handpicked the track to appear on his infamous ‘Universal Religion’ CD, making it on to CD2 of Volume 5 alongside some of the world’s biggest producers.
It has been from then on that James’ name has been appearing on a number of highly rated releases. Original productions such as ‘Shallop’, ‘Gates to Petra’ and ‘Oridinal’, with their own unique uplifting feel to them, gained support from Ernesto and Bastian, Daren Tate, Lee Haslam, Sean Tyas and Pedro Del Mar respectively. Remix releases have not failed to live up to expectations, ‘Up & Forward – Presitege’ and ‘Dave Leyrock - Transportation’ have received live and podcast support from the likes of Mark Sherry, Ost and Meyer and Ferry Tale. With the rework of Ralphie B’s – Massive soon to be release on Blackhole Records ‘In Trance we Trust’ label, further support has followed by Armin Van Buuren, Gareth Emery, Jon O’Bir, Mark Eteson, Bjorn Akesson, Simon Patterson and Bryan Kearney to name just a few.
At just 22, James is rubbing shoulders with some of the most established producers in the world and with plenty of more exciting originals, remixes and live performances still to come in 2012, this makes James one of the hottest up-and-coming producers on the planet right now.
