Christopher V
Christopher saw the first light on June 28th 1983. June 28th happens to be the same day Peter Paul Rubens was born. Could this be the reason his head was full of creativity, that had to find its way out?
When he was 8 years old, his parents gave him a little synthesizer to play with. He started to play the notes from the tunes he heard on the radio, and the big journey of creativity had begun…
A little later, he received another old musical instrument: mom’s acoustic guitar. When he learned a few riffs during the holidays, his passion for the guitar was born. Inspired by Pink FLoyd, he tried to reproduce some psychedelic tunes, but on an acoustic guitar, the options are very limited. When he was old enough to have a summer job, he saved up until he could buy his very own electric guitar.
For his birthday, he received a BOSS guitar effect pad. Terms like delay, resonance, distortion, … became daily items and soon, his room was filled with some very long delayed sounds.
Two years later he decided to buy a midi controller, so he could play some piano parts, synth parts he had heard in tracks of many bands, eg Pink Floyd, Coldplay,… Recording this, ofwel combined with playing the guitar, opened a whole new world.
His passion for synth sounds together with his love for trance/dance eventually put him up to making his first pluck sounds. Soon, the computer was overloaded with sequencers, sound editing software, and lots of vsti’s. With the help of some friends, he improved his producing skills and the first tracks were ready to be released.
Today, he mostly works with his friend Jordan Waeles in the studio, and they go by the name of First Effect. This is his main contribution to the trance scène. He accounts for the creative part of generating uplifting melodies, whereas Jordan is the fantastic technical guy to get everything built up nicely and mastered perfectly.
As a father to 2 wonderfull kids and a husband to a lovely wife, it’s a bit weird to be married to music as well…
